Where Integration Meets Innovation:Creating, Sustaining and Improving Dynamic and Diverse Public Schools for the 21st Century

Free, two-day conference that brings together parents, educators, scholars and activists who aspire to build innovative, racially and culturally diverse public schools that prepare children for learning, work and life in the 21st century. During the interactive conference, participants will:

  1. visit inspiring, groundbreaking schools and see 21st-century integrated education in action;
  2. learn about ways parents and educators can affect policy and inform the national conversation about education;
  3. listen to each other's stories about local challenges and work collaboratively toward solutions;
  4. celebrate successes and talk about how to replicate them;
  5. hear about new research on the benefits of diversity and practice using this knowledge to inspire action;
  6. discuss controversial, crucial topics - race, inequality, bias - in a safe space 
  7. explore lesson plans and curriculum that build 21st-century skills and harness the potential of diversity;
  8. grow a network of people who share a commitment to educating students for a diverse and changing world; and,
  9. create innovative ways of working together after after the conference is over.

Presenters include Denzil Mohammed of The Immigrant Learning Center, Inc. Public Education Institute, which hosts this research site.

This free, two-day conference is hosted by One Nation Indivisible, a non-profit that supports racially, culturally, linguistically and socioeconomically integrated schools, communities, workplaces and social institutions.
